SPECIAL EVENT: FAB LAB for Windows Server 2008

Want to play with Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V on new, top of the line hardware? At this free event, we'll provide the pizza and beer and give you a chance to get your hands on the new Windows Server 2008 technologies.

Join Netdesk for our first FAB LAB (food and beer) on Windows Server 2008. You'll be running Windows Server 2008 in a virtual lab configured with Hyper-V on Netdesk's new top of the line hardware (Core 2 Duo with 4 GB RAM, 500 GB SATA2 hard drives, NVIDIA GPU, and all running on Windows Server 2008 64-bit OS).

In this three hour event, you choose the technology you want to see and run the labs you want from six of the key Windows Server 2008 technologies including Hyper-V, Terminal Services, and IIS 7.0

What's a FAB LAB?

A cool new event that gives you a chance to get your hands on the new technologies. For the past several years, we've given you First Looks to see the new product features and what the new technologies can do. Now we're taking it the next level and giving you the opportunity to learn for yourself how these new technologies perform -- and we're throwing in pizza and beer and free stuff!

What are the Windows Server 2008 labs for this event?

You'll have three hours to spend on the labs of your choice:

  • Server Virtualization: Use PowerShell to create and manage virtual machines and to query virtual information using the WMI provider
  • Centralized Application Access: deliver apps from your data center to your users no matter where they are using Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services
  • Branch Office Management: give your Branch Office users the same quality of service as those in your hub locations with the peace of mind knowing your data is secure
  • Security and Policy Control: Use the updated security and policy settings to secure Windows Server 2008
  • Server Management: Discover the new management options
  • Web and Application Platform Technologies: See the new features in IIS 7.0 and how to manage your application platform
